Hi Ian,
Thanks for your question. Botox treatment for excessive sweating is remarkably safe. The main side effect that has been seen from Botox treatment for hyperhidrosis is a slight weakening of nearby muscles. This has only happened with botox treatment for too much sweat from the hands. It is completely reversible and only lasts for a few weeks. One way of minimising the chance of this happening is to give the botox in a carefully phased way and build up the dosage, rather than doing the whole surface of the palm of the hand at once.

Hi Jane
Choosing a roller to complement Obagi Clear to reduce age spots or pigmentation due to sun damage is very effective. You can just go for a short needle length - a 0.25mm is fine for that as this will minimize discomfort and it’ll make a big difference to the effectiveness of the anti-pigmentation treatment. I recommend the Dermapure Home Treatment pack (cost is £79 + £5p&p, buy home dermaroller kit here), which includes a titanium 0.25mm dermaroller, preparation cream, collagen-activator with stem cells, peptide-based anti-pigmentation treatment and solar moisturizer (SPF 30).

hi
I was wondering I have an age spot my hand which I am wanting to lighten to blend in with my own skin tone, I am currently using Obagi Clear to help with this pigmentation, can I use the roller with this product and which needle length should I use?

Thanks Ann Marie. My botox clients often ask me when they should think about having next botox injections. This is a matter of personal preference, and there is no right or wrong time to have the next dose other than to say it's best to start thinking about it only when there is some clear evidence that the Botox is starting to wear off. Trying to pre-empt the Botox wearing off by using the calendar is probably not such a good idea as it could last a lot longer than you thought, particularly if you are having it regularly as it tends to last a bit longer each time. What kind of evidence should you look for to show you that the Botox is starting to wear off? Well it's mainly return of movement in the muscle areas that were previously paralyzed. The first area will probably be between the eyebrows if you had that area treated. This is a particularly strong and active muscle area and will show signs of the Botox wearing off earlier than other treated areas in many cases. I've written a page with more information about botox cosmetic treatments.

Hi Suzanne, thanks for your question about Pelleve treatment. Pelleve radiofrequency skin tightening works below the surface to tighten your skin, so with each treatment you will see a bit more skin tightening under the chin. Most of my clients find that two or three treatments spaced a month or two apart gives them the skin tightening results that they are looking to achieve, however there have been research studies into radiofrequency skin tightening where people have had up to six treatments in six months, and the results can be dramatic. The skin tightening effect is long lasting too, with studies showing that the results last six months or more in nearly 90 percent.

I've got quite a lot of loose skin around my neck and especially under my chin. How many Pelleve treatments will I need?
