I read an interesting research article (http://onlinelibrary NULL.wiley NULL.com/doi/10 NULL.1111/j NULL.1524-4725 NULL.2011 NULL.01882 NULL.x/full) about a comparison of intense pulsed light treatment with dermaroller microneedling therapy. We already know that they are both good ways to plump up skin with fresh new collagen, but before this study nobody had ever compared dermaroller collagen induction therapy with intense pulsed light therapy.  The good news is that the study confirmed that they both work and that dermaroller microneedling with a 0.25mm needle resulted in 20% more collagen than intense pulsed light.

I think that dermaroller treatment is one of the simplest and most effective ways to bring about a natural and long lasting rejuvenation of your skin, with minimal downtime and an excellent safety profile.

    Hi

I have rosacea and wonder if I would be suitable for dermaroller treatment.

      Dear Michelle,
Thanks. I wouldn’t recommend dermaroller treatment is you have rosacea, but certain chemical peels (e.g glycolic) have a good research base to show that they can be helpful. Have a chat with your doctor about it first, then start with a very mild peel to see how your skin reacts.
