Sculptra

Sculptra Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra Aesthetic trained physician. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person. Within the deep dermis, your skin’s structure is reinforced as Sculptra Aesthetic helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness of your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds* that has been depleted over time. The result? Sculptra Aesthetic is different because it gradually and subtly corrects these facial wrinkles. This can provide a more youthful looking appearance that can last more than two years. Learn more about Sculptra. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The booking office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Botox

Botox treatments have been used in cosmetic medicine since the early 90’s, and are very safe and effective. They are particularly helpful for treating lines on the upper third of the face – between the eyebrows, forehead, and around the eyes. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Platelet Rich Plasma (aka The Vampire Lift)

This treatment involves taking some blood from your arm. This is then placed in a special sterile tube with a gel layer which separates the red cells from the platelets when it is put in the  in a centrifuge and spun at high speed. This is all done while you wait (takes about 15 minutes). The platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then extracted from the spun tube and injected into the areas of your face that need rejuvenation. The PRP contains a lot of growth factors that stimulate new skin cells to grow. It’s especially good for under the eyes. Most people have two or three treatments and the effect is long-lasting (at least a year) as it is your own skin that’s done the work. There is very little risk of reaction as it’s all your own goodies that are being injected. There is a risk of bruising, swelling and redness in the first few days after the procedure. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Facial redness and thread veins
Facial redness and thread veins affect many people. Often they are the result of working outdoors for many years, sometimes it’s familial and occasionally it’s due to a skin condition called rosacea. Whatever the cause, it’s treatable. Using Veinwave technology, occasionally in combination with Intense Pulsed Light treatment, a significant improvement in the appearance can be obtained. Downtime is usually minimal and the results are long-lasting. Learn more about Veinwave and Intense Pulsed Light.
Intense Pulsed Light

Intense Pulsed Light can be used to stimulate your skin cells to make new collagen and elastin, and IPL is also able to remove age-spots and pigmentation.

The way it works is that you come in for a test dose to find out the safe and effective dose for your skin type. That’s important because if you are given an energy dose that’s too high for your skin then there’s a risk of a burn. If it’s too low then it’s not going to work, which is a waste of time and money for you as well as a missed opportunity to improve your appearance. After the test dose you come back a few days later for the treatment session. The treatment itself takes about 30 minutes and there may be some increased redness for a few days but no down-time. Learn more about IPL treatment. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Pellevé Radiofrequency Skin Tightening
Pelleve is the signature treatment in the development of non-surgical facelift. It’s a well-researched treatment that uses radio frequency to heat the deep layers of your skin to stimulate the regeneration of new collagen to refresh and rejuvenate your face, neck and décolleté. The treatment can be done in an hour or less and there’s no down-time. It’s a true lunch-time anti-ageing procedure that will help to firm up and tighten the skin of your face, neck and décolleté. The effects develop gradually over the next few weeks after the treatment and last for many months. Most clients have three or four treatments over a period of months, and then a top-up once or twice a year. Learn more about Pellevé. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The booking office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.
PRP for male-pattern baldness

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a safe and proven way to stimulate hair growth in male-pattern baldness. It contains the necessary growth factors that stimulate hair follicles to grow and strengthen in numbers. The treatment normally consists of three sessions spaced about six weeks apart. The procedure is all done in about an hour, using a fully approved (FDA and EC) sterile single-use disposable kit. Micro - dermabrasion

If you are looking to improve the complexion of your skin, particularly if break-outs are a problem, then Microdermabrasion combined with red-light therapy can help. With microdermabrasion, your skin is gently “sanded” with a sterile diamond-coated treatment device. The procedure gets rid of any dead skin cells, helps to clear blocked pores and makes way for a new, smoother layer of skin to replace the skin that’s been treated. The stimulation also starts off a cascade of activity in the deeper skin cells, who are tricked into providing an injury response. This in turn brings about the generation of new collagen and elastin fibres. The treatment takes about 30 minutes in total. There is usually no down-time after this procedure, and you can have a microdermabrasion every two weeks for six weeks to achieve effects similar to a deeper chemical peel but without the risk or downtime. Learn more about microdermabrasion. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels have been around since the time of the Pharoahs, who used to put fruit acid on their face to achieve a more youthful look and that healthy Egyptian glow! The science has advanced a bit since then but the idea is the same. A chemical peel takes off the superficial layers of the skin and makes the skin regenerate new cells. This results in a smoother complexion with less lines and pigmentation. The chemical peels in my clinic come in two flavours – the superficial Milk Peel (so called because of the presence of lactic acid in the cocktail, there’s no milk in it), which is a cocktail of lactic, salicylic and 50% glycolic acid. So although it’s in the class of superficial peels it is strong enough to do the job. You will definitely notice a difference after one of these. Smoother, more evenly-toned skin and a brighter complexion is usually seen after the Milk Peel. There’s usually no down-time with the Milk Peel, which takes about 20 minutes. You can have the milk peel and return back to your regular activities. If the sun is out you will need a high factor SPF to ensure that your skin achieves a nice even tone while it’s regenerating after the peel. The Cosmo Peel is a TCA (tricarboxylic acid) peel, and penetrates more deeply. It takes off more layers of skin, so you will most likely experience a few days of genuine peeling and down-time after it. But the result is a more profound and longer-lasting rejuvenation. Probably a peel that’s best for the Autumn and Winter months as you definitely want to protect your skin from UV light as it’s regenerating after a TCA peel. Learn more about the Milk Peel and Cosmo TCA chemical peel. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Red Light Therapy for Wrinkles

Wavelengths of red light that help improve your skin’s barrier function by improving its ability to retain key elements it needs to heal and generate new collagen after its production has slowed due to age or cumulative damage. Red light LEDs are also believed to target the skin’s oil glands to reduce cytokines, a class of pro-inflammatory substances believed to play a role in chronic acne. Studies have shown that red light therapy helps reduce signs of ageing, including wrinkles around the eyes; it’s also a good choice for those struggling with acne and wrinkles as it reduces the bacterial count in your skin; there’s minimal risk of side effects, and no downtime. The cost of treatment is £40 for a 30 minute session. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.

Ultrasonic and Radio Frequency Body Contouring

The new Lipofirm PLUS is an excellent solution for non-invasive inch loss, body sculpting, cellulite removal and skin tightening. It uses ultrasonic waves to instantly and permanently destroy fat cells, expelling it through the urine. Radiofrequency energy stimulates new collagen to tighten up the skin. It’s a convenient noninvasive, no downtime solution to reduce areas of fat, body circumference and tighten your skin.

Acne Scar Treatments
I treat acne scars and other types of facial scars. This is done either with a single type of treatment, the Dermapen micro-needling collagen-induction therapy and for deeper scars combination therapy with Dermapen, Dermal Filler or Sculptra. Acne often leaves areas darkened by pigmentation so chemical peels, microdermabrasion and pigment-lightening cream can be very helpful too.
Dermapen Microneedling Collagen Induction Therapy
The Dermapen is an electrically operated micro needling device that causes the sterile disposable needles in the Dermapen tip to oscillate at a rate of close to 110 revolutions per second. When the needle tip makes contact with the skin, the needles create tiny punctures in the skin’s surface, causing micro-trauma, and inducing an immune response, and subsequently, the creation of new healthy collagen. The Dermapen leaves your face looking quite red for two or three days, so there is some down-time with this treatment. The treatment itself takes about an hour in total. Micro-needling is a proven technique for the treatment of acne scars, with a success rate of approximately 80%. It is most successful for superficial and medium depth scars, but even for deep scars some improvement is usually seen. Learn more about Dermapen micro needling. You can book in on-line for a consultation here, or if you prefer, please call 0191 406 6101. The office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 7pm and Sat 9 till 5.
